Document format conversion according to §69a

A similar option to Conversion to PDF is option Change document format according to §69a, but its effect is more complex. The procedure is used to change the document’s data format in digital form while ensuring the document’s authenticity, contents inviolation, document legibility and secure conversion process.

This procedure is applied to documents that are not in the output data format (e.g. received documents), and they need to be converted in a trustworthy way in output data format (typically PDF/A) for retention management. The converted document has the same legal effect as a certified copy of the original document.

This means that in practice you will not notice any outer signs of any conversion made, but if you view the file in the form (using the magnifying glass button), you will find a Clause for a document’s conversion in digital format at its end.
