Signature certificates in Sofa

You can request the following certificates in Sofa:

  • Commercial certificates from SignMaster® CA (signature and seal). Certificates from this authority are used for remote advanced electronic signature of documents or contracts between private parties in electronic legal transactions.
    These certificates do not need the certification authority to be activated, nor do they need to be approved – they are created for the user immediately after submitting the request.

  • Qualified and commercial certificates and an electronic qualified seal from a qualified authority PostSignum CA. The certification authority needs to be activated first and then request the certificates; the submitted request then waits for an approval.

    • A Qualified certificate is used for remote qualified electronic signing of requests or contracts or to communicate with public administration.

    • A Commercial certificate is used for remote encryption of communication (such as e-mail messages) or log in to web applications (for example for public administration).

    • An Electronic seal is used for remote qualified electronic sealing of documents issued by your organization.

  • Qualified and commercial certificates and an electronic qualified seal from a qualified authority I.CA. This certification authority also needs to be activated first. The certificates needs to be requested and the submitted request then waits for an approval.
    The certificate and seal usage is the same as for the PostSignum certification authority.
