eToken

eToken is an app designed for the Remote signing service. eToken provides access to digital signature certificates from a remote certificate store using HSM.

HSM (Hardware Security Module) uses a specialized hardware device to securely generate and store cryptographic keys, certificates and data and runs critical cryptographic operations. This device is equipped with specific safeguard measures that prevent access to secure operations even if the device itself is stolen. The advantage of HSM devices over similar technical devices you probably know as USB keychain (token) or chip card – that allow you to always carry your certificates with you and have them available by connecting the token (card) to a computer – is the option to store the certificate and access it using a remote computer (qualified server) from anywhere and anytime you need it. This method eliminates the necessity to carry any “token” around and risk losing it or leaving it behind somewhere. This is what eToken offers.
